Hi, I am Rusty. I am a gentle and sweet rescue dog with a special story. Me and 26 other dogs were rescued by the veterinary service from a hoarder situation where we experienced neglect and bad treatment. We found a temporary home at the shelter from where we are now looking for our forever homes. After settling in I slowly got used to my surroundings and I started to build trust and confidence. I started to learn that humans can be caring, kind and full of love, happily sharing their time with us, bringing us treats and showing us the good things life has to offer. I learnt to go out to the playground where we have space to run and explore and where we get extra yummy treats.

I am still a little shy with new situations and meeting new people and I will need extra settling in time in my new home. Patience, plenty of time and going at my pace is all I am asking for and I am sure we will form a wonderful bond of friendship. One of the volunteers says that I am always wearing a smile, that’s because I am so happy to be finally loved and cared for. I also never say no to a treat and hopefully my new home will have plenty of those. I am ready for the next step to meet my forever family. A family who is as special as me and my story and who have the experience and time to start a new life together with understanding, wonderful moments and full of joy and love.
