Hello, I am ANITA, little miss Sunshine with a bright happy loving personality.

My rescue family describes me as: “absolutely ADORABLE, loving everyone and everything, big or small (except maybe cats😉), a very happy soul.”

I am 2 years old, a gorgeous girl and just a very social being. I get along very well with other dogs and I absolutely love humans no matter their size or age.

The first year of my life was not so easy. My leg was broken and because I didn’t have good care it didn’t heal back straight. However it doesn’t bother me at all! I can do anything and everything and I love love love my walks, I have no discomfort from it. But if this wasn’t bad enough luck, I was also bitten by a sandfly and got leishmania for which I received treatment for and is now dormant and under control. Leishmania is controllable and NOT life shortening if monitored correctly, I do need to take inexpensive medication every day of my life to make sure that the disease stays dormant and under control. My rescuers are very knowledgeable on this leishmania disease which is not transmittable and they tell me not to worry at all because with blood tests twice a year to monitor treatment, I will live a long and happy life! And people won’t even notice it all! Yay!

My biggest wish (and I think I can speak for all dogs here) is that people will look beyond my medical status and see the loving dog that I am.

I have so much love to give and I’m so ready to swap the shelter for a loving family 💛🥰
