Hi, I am Cooper. I am so full of joy and excitement that I want to share it with everyone by running around and playing. It’s always great fun to be in the playground at the shelter and I make the volunteers smile and laugh whenever they are around me. I also love toys and I like to carry them around like a little trophy. I do get on well with the other dogs at the shelter and we play and learn together, especially when it involves little treats. I am very human oriented and I just love being around people and enjoying life together.
I can’t really tell you much about my past. I was found abandoned in the mountains in quite poor conditions. I spent some time at the vet to recover and then moved to the shelter once I was in good shape and ready for my journey to find a new family. The volunteers at the shelter believe that I once had a family as I so much enjoy being around people, making new friends easily.
There is one more thing I would like to share with you. I was bitten by a sandfly and got Leishmania for which I received treatment and it is now dormant and under control. Leishmania is controllable and non transmittable. It is not life shortening if monitored correctly via blood tests. I do need to take inexpensive medication to make sure that the disease stays dormant and under control. My rescuers are very knowledgeable on this and can guide my family through.
