Hi, I am Darren. I am a rescue dog with a gentle and friendly character looking for a family to call my own. A family who will love and accept me as I am and who is looking forward to little adventures and nice walks. There is so much to discover and I can’t wait to finally swap shelter life for a life full of happiness and joy. It hasn’t always been easy for me after I was abandoned and had to fend for myself for some time. At the shelter I have become friends with some of the other dogs and we love to run around together and explore.

I think I can say that I am an independent dog, who is getting on well with other dogs once we get to know each other. At times I am playful and I have some fun with the other dogs. And the same goes for people. I have a happy waggy tail whenever I am around them, simply being part of the pack. I still need to build a bit more confidence and trust and I know this is something we can do together forming a strong bond while learning and living a life full of joy and love, being great companions and being at each other’s side every day.

There is one more thing I would like to share with you. I was bitten by a sandfly and got Leishmania for which I received treatment and it is now dormant and under control. Leishmania is controllable and non transmittable. It is not life shortening if monitored correctly via blood tests. I do need to take inexpensive medication to make sure that the disease stays dormant and under control. My rescuers are very knowledgeable on this and can guide my family through.
