Meet HOPE

Hello everyone, I am Hope💛, a sweet, gentle and handsome lady who never fails to live up to her name.

Life hasn’t always been kind to me, but I never gave up the hope that one day I will find that special place that I can call home.

My wishes for my forever home are very simple: a soft bed, yummy food and treats, a little garden … and of course loving human friends. I love to go on short walks (I walk nicely on the lead) and spend quality time with my family.

I do prefer to be the only dog in the household. Not because I dislike my four-legged peers, but because I value peace and quiet.

As you can see, I don’t need much, but I do have plenty of love to give.

I won’t bother you with too much information about my past (I prefer to look forward to the future 😊), but I would like to share a few things with you.

I was rescued from an overcrowded pound and diagnosed with an old shoulder injury that healed the wrong way. I had surgery to repair this, but I will continue to have a slight limp in my front leg. (Hence my preference for short walks 😉)

At one point I was also bitten by a sandfly. Because of this, I got leishmania for which I received treatment and it is now dormant and under control. Leishmania is controllable and NOT life shortening if monitored correctly, I do need to take inexpensive medication to make sure that the disease stays dormant and under control. My rescuers are very knowledgeable on this leishmania disease which is not transmittable and they tell me not to worry at all because with blood tests twice a year to monitor treatment, I will live a normal and happy life!

I am very much looking forward to the day that my wish will come true and I can move to my forever home!
