Hi, I am Mayia. Before I tell you my story, let me share with you how the volunteers at the shelter and my foster family describe me. They say that I am loving, gentle and adorable, I am a real people dog. I am quite independent and I do come for the occasional cuddle and relaxing time on the sofa, but knowing that I am part of a family and having them around is most important to me. I missed out on that with my previous family, who had less and less time and eventually surrendered me to the shelter.
Because I had an epileptic fit, I was taken in by a foster family. I received a thorough health check and with my daily medication, I am feeling well. I have no more epileptic fits and I can lead a normal life. I love my daily walks in nature and I am still feeling young at heart, I have quite some energy to spend. My foster family taught me a lot and I am a willing learner, except for the few occasions when I have selective hearing, but sometimes discovering the world is too tempting and I just want to prolong my explorations for a bit. I love to play too and some other dogs perceive the play as a bit rough and don’t want to join in. It’s just my way of having a good time and I am sure we will find some playmates who feel the same as me. At home, I prefer a quiet and calm environment where I can relax and be with you and that’s why I would like to be the only pet in the house. I would love to find a family who can offer love, guidance and companionship, a place that I can call my own. In return, I will lighten up your home with my great personality and I will be a loyal and loving companion for life.
