Meet Peggy

Hello, I am Peggy, a brave and beautiful German Wirehaired Pointer cross of around 6 years old.

I was found in the mountains in a highly pregnant state. My puppies have already found their forever homes and now it’s my turn to look for a family to become part of.

I currently live in a foster home, but nothing tops finding that special place that I can call my forever home.
My foster mom says that I am adjusting amazingly well to living in a home, together with other dogs. And with my calm and loving personality I am a real joy to have around. In fact, my rescuers and foster family (and everybody I have met so far) are completely in love with me.

My favourite activities are cuddling, going on long walks and sleeping. So it would be great if I could find human friends who love these things just as much as I do.
I do have arthritis, but I have undergone further examinations for this and the vet said that supplements and good food will definitely be of help to me.
But if this wasn’t bad enough luck, I was also bitten by a sandfly and got leishmania for which I received treatment and is now dormant and under control. Leishmania is controllable and NOT life shortening if monitored correctly, I do need to take inexpensive medication to make sure that the disease stays dormant and under control. My rescuers are very knowledgeable on this leishmania disease which is not transmittable and they tell me not to worry at all because with blood tests to monitor treatment, I will live a long and happy life, enjoying all the things I love to do together with my human friends!
