Hello, I am Teddy, a Shar-Pei cross of around 2,5 years old who truly lives up to his name. I’m a very sweet and gentle teddy bear.

Unfortunately my past wasn’t so warm and fuzzy. I was confiscated by vet services after being the victim of serious abuse. The fact that I was rescued and able to move to a shelter where the caretakers showed me nothing but love and good care made me blossom. So now I am a confident, but very loving young male.

I would love to find a forever home where love and respect are the key words. A place where my human friends will give me the opportunity to let me be the real me: a sweet boy with the softest character who is fond of cuddles and kisses. In other words, a real teddy bear. Since I weigh around 25 kg, I don’t only hand out big cuddles, I also expect equally big cuddles in return.

Of course, these aren’t my only good qualities. I’m also okay with other dogs and I am a perfect passenger in the car. I can even jump into the car by myself.

Something you also need to know about me is that I was bitten by a sandfly and got leishmania. I have received treatment for this and it is now dormant and under control. Leishmania is controllable and NOT life shortening if monitored correctly, I do need to take inexpensive medication to make sure that the disease stays dormant and under control. My rescuers are very knowledgeable on this leishmania disease which is not transmittable and they tell me not to worry at all because with blood tests twice a year to monitor treatment, I will live a long and happy life!
